RESPONSE TO "PATS SAMPSON" about costs at Dignitas, in ERGO post
Reference your concern about 'wasted costs' if you made the trip to
Zurich and Dignitas would not accept you.
Rest assured that Dignitas has a fairly thorough screening process
that you must go through before you should ever even think of
making the trip. You have to submit a lot of medical records and
other biographical information so that Dignitas can make an
informed decision as to whether you would qualify as a candidate for
their program. And you have to pay in advance or have proof that
you can pay their fee in full PRIOR to your death ... and the fee is
substantial for foreigners. But you would get a
conclusive yes or no reply well before you need to book any air travel!
And yes, there have been several ... maybe more than
several ... who simply showed up at the door and asked Dignitas to take
their case, but in all, or almost all cases, they have
been turned down ... it is only in these types of cases is there any
financial risk You can learn a great deal about
DIGNITAS simply by going on the web and "GOOGLE" their web site or
simply E-Mail them directly at dignitas at dignitas.ch .
Althouth the web site is in German, there are links to English texts
also, and Dr. Minelli and others all know English very
well, and can respond to you by E-Mail or by other means.
